Over 98% of pageant contestants admit they feel inadequate when it comes to their
interviewing and speaking skills. That's interesting ... considering that less than
1 in 200,000 people are considered to be a "natural" when it comes to public
speaking. This means that if YOU have the proper training, coaching, and the
incentive to learn the secrets and special techniques that professional actors, actresses,
musical performers, and GREAT public speakers use, you will gain a HUGE advantage over
your competition because you will become UNFORGETTABLE!
Don't try to learn the tricks of the trade - instead, learn the SECRETS
of the trade.
Throughout my career, one of the keys to success I have encountered time and again is
this:
You don't have to be the smartest person in the world ... but
you need to surround yourself with people who are EXPERTS within their chosen
field ... and when you need help, choose the best EXPERT you can find !
Successful people hire mentors whose professional background and experience bring
EXTREME VALUE. You should ask yourself, "What makes this "expert"
qualified to become my mentor?" With this said, my professional background is
uniquely suited to help pageant contestants gain the experience and confidence needed to
successfully compete at the highest level. (see Speaker/Trainer
and Matt Rix)
You need to understand how to "dominate" the stage, how to
vanquish the fear most contestants feel when standing in front of the judges, what
techniques you can use to immediately "take control", why short, personal
stories and vignettes are GOLD because they are UNFORGETTABLE!
Now, here's your first lesson --
Stop thinking of yourself as a Contestant. Start thinking of yourself as an Entertainer!
You need to develop the mindset of an entertainer. WHY? If you think of
yourself as a contestant, you immediately take on a weaker, subservient persona or role --
subconsciously you relinquish your authority. If you are timid, insecure,
self-consciousness, or harbor any self-doubt, this is how people will perceive you -- and
it will show!
However, if you think of yourself as an entertainer -- taking control of the room --
your demeanor and how you begin to see YOURSELF will begin to change. The secret is
this -- how you think about yourself, how you perceive yourself on the inside cannot help
but express itself on the outside. If you are confident, self-assured, and
when YOU know you "own the stage", THIS TOO WILL
SHOW!
As my client, we will go over many of the common questions and themes judges and
judging panels use, and I will help you understand why these questions are popular. HINT
-- there are only four (4) types of judges you will experience -- and you need to be
prepared for each type of personality. You will also begin to see that there are
several different methods you can use to answer any question, and as in all of these
techniques, the more you practice ... practice ... practice, the better you will become.
Here's your second lesson --
Don't blindly copy what others are teaching
or what other contestants will be doing,
You need to learn how to develop your own style ...
YOU NEED TO BE UNFORGETTABLE!
As my client, you will also learn how to become UNFORGETTABLE with each
new interview question, and how to insert (also call "sliding") pre-written and
rehearsed "personal snippets" into your answers -- allowing you and your
interview to be unique and to stand out. (Please see Facts Tell,
but Stories Sell). You will begin to understand the FORMULAS all successful
writers, actors, speakers, and performers use to create emotional, motivational, and
persuasive performances.
You will learn how to become UNFORGETTABLE,
and for the right reasons!
When you learn the steps for creating, writing, rehearsing, and performing your own
personal vignettes, and when you understand the secrets of becoming an effective stage
personality -- a whole new world will open for you -- the world of taking control of the
platform, of taking control of your performances, of taking control of your audience ...
but most important ... taking control of your professional career.
YOU WILL GAIN A NEW LEVEL OF CONFIDENCE AND SELF-ASSURANCE.
REMEMBER -- Facts Tell, but STORIES SELL ...
But only when you transition into an UNFORGETTABLE
ENTERTAINER!
